Obituary of Michael Maynard
Michael Maynard "Mike" "Pa", passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 15, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Linda Maynard; sons, Michael (Dacia) Maynard of Schaghticoke and Joseph (Robin) Maynard of Cohoes; grandchildren, Joseph ( Jessa Kahler), Nicholas, Lily, and Lindsey. He is also survived by his mother, June Brassard, step mother, Donna Maynard, brothers Thomas (Carol) Maynard, Randall Maynard, Roland (Carrie) Maynard, step brother Dean Salvi and step sister Deidre Benoit. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his father Raynald Maynard, step father Richard Brassard and mother in law and friend Evelyn DuShane.
Mike was a member of the United States Navy and served on the USS Saratoga. He was employed by the Watervliet Arsenal and later the city of Schenectady as the Master Mechanic. He also spent many years traveling up and down the east coast with family and friends drag racing Nitro Fuel Harleys. He enjoyed being a mechanic, welder, body man, fabricator, fisherman and hunter. His happiest moments were spent riding his shovel head motorcycle with his many friends and hunting and fishing with his sons and grandchildren. Mike was a wonderful husband, father, father in law and friend and was always there to selflessly help anyone who need it, always putting others first.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday August 21st at 9:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Crescent followed by interment with military honors at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 RT-9 Clifton Park, NY 12065 on Sunday August 20th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
