Obituary of Mark I. Hatlee
Mark I. Hatlee 72, of Troy, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the Adirondack Medical Center after a fly fishing accident in Lake Placid as was his passion. He was born on December 10, 1946 in Clifton Park, NY the son of the late Irving and Helen Hatlee. He attended Shenendehowa High School School, SUNY Plattsburgh and was a graduate of SUNY Albany and received his Masters in Education.
Most recently, Mark was employed as Chief Communications Officer at Maria College in Albany.
He was a former member of the Troy Music Hall Board and sat on other boards. He was actively involved in dog and horse rescue. He loved watching his jointly owned horse successfully compete in the hunter ring at numerous shows. Mark was a passionate fly fisherman, climber and skier. He loved traveling, refining his photographic as well as his epicurean skills. His most recent trip in August 2017, was the trip of a lifetime. He cruised to Cuba!
Survivors include his loving companion of 17 years, Fay Spargo and her children( who called him Marky Mark) Arwen and Ariel Spargo and his beloved rescue dogs; Jack, Ginger, Luna and Camus and his granddog Bettie Mae.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. followed by his funeral service at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home 1550 Route 9 Clifton Park, New York, 12065.
