Obituary of Daniel Allen Kane

Daniel Allen Kane, 63, of Bent Pine Hollow, died suddenly on Saturday as the result of an automobile accident in Clifton Park.  He was born on March 29, 1954 in Quentin, PA and was the son of Garnetta Brown Kane Chiaramonte of Clifton Park and the late James Kane.  He was a graduate of Baldwin High School in Baldwin, NY.  Daniel was the owner and operator of Yard Smart Landscaping in Clifton Park for many years and earlier he had been an investment banker in Tennesee and Florida.  He was a very vibrant person, bigger than life.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, camping, fishing, along with boating and Kayaking.  Dan was known to be able to fix anything and was a great neighbor and friend.  He was a communicant of St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park.

Survivors in addition to his beloved mother, include his wife, Mary Ellen Gassert Kane; his six sons; Daniel Luke Kane of Savanah, GA, Zachary (Amy) Kane of Beardstown, Ill,  Stefan Kane of MA, Dylan Kane and Quentin Kane both of Memphis, TN and David Zarco of Miami, FL; brother of Julianne Cochrane, Kristin Mary (John) Sciuto, Eileen (John) Latini and the late James Anthony Kane; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 from St. Edward the Confessor Church in Clifton Park where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Calling hours will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 Clifton Park, NY 12065
