Margaret N. Marcinowski
Margaret Domenica Penzabene Marcinowski, 98, of Ballston Spa, died on Sunday March 25, 2018 with her loved ones by her side. She was born on August 13, 1919 in Fitchburg, MA ; the daughter of the late Francesco and Antonia Palano Penzabene. Margaret was the beloved wife of the late Michael S. Marcinowski for 62 years, until his death on Oct. 20, 2002. She was also predeceased by her sister Rose Musella and her brother Joseph Penzabene.
She was a hair dresser for several years prior to moving to the Adirondacks with her husband, after the war, where they operated a small resort and lumbering operation. Upon moving back to the Albany area, she was the Secretary and Treasurer of the family business, The House of Kitchens, until retirement. Margaret always loved to dance and continued to do so well into her nineties, enjoying the opportunity of celebrating with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews at several weddings and other family milestones. Margaret was artistically talented since childhood and particularly enjoyed sketching and working with oils.
Margaret is survived by her son Kenneth M. Marcinowski, Sr. and his wife Nilde; cherished grandmother of N. Michele Marcinowski of Malden, MA, Kenneth Marcinowski, Jr. and his wife Lauren of Lynnfield, MA and Jennifer Bingham and her husband Brian of Jamaica Plain, MA; her great grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Josh and Nick Marcinowski and Tessa Bingham. Margaret is also survived by her sister Claire Tagliavia of Fitchburg, MA as well as many nieces and nephews in New York and Massachusetts whose company she always enjoyed.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9 in Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 10:30 with Father Rick Lesser, Pastor of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers, officiating in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
