Obituary of William A. Nedoroscik

William A. Nedoroscik, 77, died peacefully in Saratoga Springs, NY on April 15, 2018. Born on August 11, 1940 in Cohoes, NY he was the son of the late John and Agnes Bozek Nedoroscik and was a dual resident of both Troy and Waterford, NY.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958-1961 aboard the U.S.S. Valley Forge and in the Naval Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1964. In 1965 he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. In 1966, as a member of B Company 1st Battalion, 26th Marines Special Landing Forces, “Ned” as he was known by his fellow Marines, served honorably against hostile forces in the Republic of Vietnam. He participated in the since declassified operations known as Deckhouse III (Tinh Bihn Tuy Province), Deckhouse III phase 2-Code name “Toledo” (Tinh Phuoc Province), and Deckhouse IV (Quang Tri Province). He was honorably discharged in 1968.

Despite his tough exterior, he had a soft spot for children and those in need, especially military veterans.

As a patriotic veteran Bill served on the Board of Directors of the Veterans of Lansingburgh Club, Troy, NY. He also served as a marshal during several parades over the years and was awarded the “Veteran of the Year” award in 2016.
