Obituary of Marcia Jean Bunting

Marcia Jean Bunting, 57, of Cohoes died on Thursday May 31, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy after a long illness.  She was born on March 1, 1961 in Oneonta, NY and was the daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Hendrickson Bunting.  She was a graduate of Shenendehowa High School, class of 1979.  Marcia had been a mail handler and clerk for the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance in Menands for a number of years.  She had also been a teacher’s aid for the Cohoes Middle School.  Marcia’s greatest enjoyment was  spending time with the family, taking road trips and attending all of her  grandchildren’s events,  never to miss a function. 

     She is the devoted mother of Brian (Amanda Gagnon) Bunting and Cassandra (Sean) Riberdy both of Cohoes, NY;  Sister of Harry Bunting of NC, Marian Crombie of MA, Jane Bunting of GA, Ella Fernet of Waterford, NY,  Helen Bunting of Green Island, NY, Florence Bunting of Cohoes, NY and the late Harold, Lawrence, Raymond and James Bunting, Rose Bunting  and Susan Chicoine; cherished grandmother of Brianna and Payton Bunting, Isabella, Jayden and Preston Riberdy; also survived by several nieces and nephews.

     Funeral will be held Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm in the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt. 9  Clifton Park, NY  12065 with Father Peter Tkocz, Pastor of St. Michael’s Church in Cohoes officiating.

Calling hours will be from 3-6 pm Tuesday in the funeral home.
