Obituary of Nghi T. Truong
Nghi Thuc “Renee” Truong, 45, peacefully entered into eternal life at Samaritan Hospital on Friday, August 17, 2018, surrounded by her family.
Born in Saigon, Vietnam, she was the daughter of Tuyet Truong White and the late Minh Tuan Ly and the stepdaughter of the late Stephen White. She was also predeceased by her 8 year old sister Mei-Ling White on July 25, 1989. Renee was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1991 and was educated at Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, New York.
Devoted mother of Branden and Tanner Sheremeta, beloved daughter of Tuyet White, loving sister of Zhai-Yeng White and Kuei-Chen White and the late Mei-Ling White, dearest stepsister of Lynn (Paul Stewart) White-Stewart and Stephen Otto Berman White,
also survived by her nephew Landon Tisko, and a host of cousins, relatives and dear friends.
She had been a teacher’s assistant at Vanderheyden Hall in Wynantskill.
Renee enjoyed many pursuits. Her hobbies and interests included reading and writing books, watching the Steve Harvey and Ellen DeGeneres shows, embracing her Chinese heritage, and attending various family gatherings.
Most of all, she was always there for her two boys and loved and cherished the times together with them and her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, NY 12180 which will be followed by funeral service that day at 3:00 p.m. at the Gardner Earl Memorial Chapel in Oakwood Cemetery, 186 Oakwood Avenue, Troy, NY 12182.
Private interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Troy.
The family would like to thank Stephanie Pelletier, Holly Hughes, Mary Beth Carmen, and Rich Shriver for their valued friendship throughout the many years as well as to Evan Cioffi, Nathan Woods, and Erin Martin for their loving care and compassion. The family would also like to express gratitude to those who have shown support and love to Nghi throughout the years.
