His many interests included golf, bowling, skiing and carpentry as well as playing the drums and bugle for the Interstatesmen Drum and Bugle Core, the Crusaders and Grenadiers. Bill loved spending time with family and friends. The most loving grandfather and godfather to Matthew and Laura Rentz.  He enjoyed attending their sporting events as well as taking them to watch ball games, sledding, skiing and golfing.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Anne (Sweeney) Rentz, son, Stephen (Libby) Rentz of East Greenbush.  He was predeceased by his father, William J. Rentz, Sr. and by his mother, Mary (Fitzmaurice) Rentz.
