Obituary of Jerome S. Hyams

Jerome S. Hyams, 92, better known as  Jerry by friends and family, formerly of Lakeville, PA, died on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
Born and educated in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Max and Stella Levenson Hyams and the beloved husband of Shiela P. Lefkin Hyams, who was called into eternal rest on February 8, 2017.
Jerry retired from the New York City Department of Water where he had been employed for over 35 years.  He also served in the U.S Army Air Force.
Jerry had a smile that could light up a room.  He was an avid New York Giants and Yankees fan, loved boxing, cruising, card games, and enjoyed working outdoors around his home. Devoted father of Beth (Charles) Cino, Mitchell (Jennifer) Hyams, Robin (Jay) Kirschner and the late Steven (late, Marsha) Hyams, brother of Selma (late, Jack) Poland, the late Milton (wife, Frances) Hyams and the late Frances Hyams, cherished grandfather of Andrew, Matthew, Aidan, Evan and MacKenzie, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Rt-9, Clifton Park, NY 12065.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. at Beth David Cemetery, Elmont, NY.
