Obituary of Ricardo A. Gallego

Ricardo A. Gallego, age 94, of 101 S. Pearl St., passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday Feb. 3, 2019 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.

 

Ricardo was born in Medellin, Colombia on Nov. 8, 1924 and was the son of the late Ricardo Gallego and Emilia Ester Lopez.  He immigrated to the United States in 1966.  Ricardo was an excellent machinist and worked for Elizabeth Leather Handbags and belonged to the Leather Goods, Plastics, Handbags and Novelty, Local #1 in New York.    He was the former husband of Ana Lucia Jimenez who died on Oct. 10, 2018.

 

Ricardo loved and took great pride in his family.  He loved music, found beauty in life and was a generous soul.  He will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.

 

He is the devoted father of Martha Tsuchiya of Manhattan and Richard (Mary Rose) Gallego of Clifton Park; brother of Alonso, Dolly and Dora all of Colombia; cherished grandfather of Sean Tsuchiya, Marisa Gallego, Richard Gallego, and Lauren Tsuchiya; uncle of Hector Gallego.

 

Calling hours will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, February15, in the Chapel of St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Road Clifton Park, NY 12065.  Memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 16, at St. Edward the Confessor Church.  Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY.
