Dear Family of Timothy B. "Tim" Hauser,
I am really truly sorry for your loss. I didn't get the chance to know Tim but he seemed like a really good person. There is a scripture that I am really fond of in times like these. That scripture is found in Revelation 21:4 which states "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away". This scripture assures us that the God of the heavens will get rid of death and anything that makes us cry. One day we'll see our dead loved ones again in the near future. If you don't mind I would like to recommend this heartwarming website called JW.org where you can find out more information about God's promises for the future. Once again I am extremely sorry for your loss.

I see a boy of 7, with a smile that is wide and bright, running down a hill in full pursuit of my own two boys in some game of Cowboys and Indians where the sole purpose is to just run and yell loudly and claim victory and start again. I see a boy of 8, bundled up in an extraordinary layers of clothing where all you can see are his eyes, valiantly going down a windswept snow covered hill on an inner tube, again and again. I see a boy of 9, with a collection of the world's largest number of action figures, painstakingly setting them up for a battle that would shame the biggest cinematic battles you've ever seen, a boy of 10 lazing and building a sand castle on a beach in Cape Cod, an 11 year old celebrating the fourth of July by lighting the most amazing number of fireworks poolside, a 12 year old certain that the world was about to be owned by he and his buddies. I see a teen awkwardly exploring these big new feet and this new body as he stumbles to adulthood and a new man emerging, all grown and different yet always the same. These things cannot be unseen. These things cannot be forgotten. These things will always be alive for me. we all reach a time when someone dear is alive for us still, if just in our mind's eye. We never expect it will be this soon in a life fully lived, but not fully journeyed. My heart breaks for his parents, but I offer the hope that the things we remember from the past can help temper the grief we feel at the loss and fill us instead with memories of joy and laughter and life.

First of all I want to express my condoleances to Tim's mother, father and his other family.
I had the priveledge of beeing friends with Tim during our time at Hobart.
Since I am a native of Stockholm, Sweden it was to say the least a confusing and scary time for me intially after having arrived in Geneva, NY.
However, Tim and I ended up being neighbours and he quickly became a friend. He not only helped me geting settled by drivning me to Walmart so that I could get basic stuff like sheets etc, but we also had really good conversations through out our college years. He explained some of the american cultural habits that I found baffling while I did the same thing for things that went on in Europe.
He truly was a accepting humoruos, generous guy that helped me to settle in.
After college I moved back to Europe. But quite often I think of the boys back in my 2nd homeland America. I have often though Tim and how great it would be to hang out with him again. The plan has always been to go back at some point and therefore the news I recieved have put me in a state of desapir. I am going to miss my friend...
I know that all of you that were close to him now have a tough time ahead of you. Know that all of his friends will miss him and think of you.
Also know, that even if Tim passed way to early, his intellegent ideas and remarks will not be forgoten. He has made a mark and he will be missed throughout the world. Especially here in Stockholm, Sweden.
You are all in my prayers and I will always remember Tim as a good, genuinly kind, generous, intelligent and humoruos friend.

I have so many cherished memories of playing with Timmy and his brothers as a child. I adored Timmy for his fun loving spirit and sense of humor. My childhood was made so much richer for knowing him.

Patty called me with the sad sad news as I walked in the red rock country near Sedona, and I stood numbed and gutted by the thought that fair-haired, open-faced, wry-smiling, Timmy was gone too soon. Yet the clean desert air, the sun playing on red sandstone, and the enduring cactus all around, all seemed to offer signs of a life that mattered and will last. There is so much that will stay with me. I recall the courteous respectful handshake, the cheerful interest behind gentle eyes, and the undemanding trust he always graced me with.
