Obituary of Charlene C. Gerst-Kehn

Charlene C. Gerst-Kehn, 64, of Fifth Avenue, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. Born and educated in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Charles Gerst and Alice VanDyke. Charlene was employed by Star & Strand Transportation Inc. in Troy where she had been a Bus Monitor assisting many children. Charlene was a true people person who loved to live life to the fullest and enjoyed watching horror movies as well as Soap Operas of which "Days of Our Lives" was her favorite. Devoted mother of Gerald J. (Robin) Kehn, Jr. of Troy, Linda M. Kehn (Bob Monticup) of Troy, Alison A. Kehn (Steve Matala) of Schaghticoke, Miranda A. Johnston (George F. Bouchey, Jr.) of Troy and Savannah C. Smith (Marquin Harris) of Troy, dear sister of Maryanne (Brian) Christian and James (Angie) Dubiel, both of Wesley Chapel, FL, Debbie Saffron of Watervliet and Charles Gerst of Schenectady, cherished grandmother of Casey Murphy, Jaryed Kehn, Ashley Murphy, Latasha Becker, George F. Bouchey, III, Tyquan C. Harris, Mason Matala and Shyonna M. Harris, adored great grandmother of Ava Kehn and Reia Roche, also survived by several nieces and nephews. All are invited and welcome to attend her Rite of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Cemetery, Oakwood Avenue in Troy on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. which will be followed by a reception in her honor at her daughter Alison's home. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region, New York, 101 State St., Schenectady, NY 12305, in memory of Charlene C. Gerst-Kehn.
